I am Ricardo Medina, a college Freshman ready to earn a degree in Accounting, driven by a large goal. My focus right now is gaining the foundational skills in business and finance that will let me start a successful career and eventually, build something of myself.

Foundation and Drive

I was born in South Bend, Indiana, but I consider Reno/Sparks home. I am proud to be working toward becoming the first person in my family to attend and graduate college. That mission serves as motivation for me every day. It is truly what drives me to secure a quality education and a high-value career where I can make a real difference in my community.

My Professional Trajectory

Although I am just starting, my clear goals are: • To graduate in 3.5 years with a large network and distinguished connections. • To earn my CPA license. • Work and gain experience at a great accounting firm. • To eventually achieve my dream of starting my own firm. Professionally, I consider my work ethic to be my greatest attribute. Together with that, I also possess these key skills: • Problem-Solving: I enjoy tackling a complex issue and seeing a clear, organized solution through to the end. • Teamwork: Whether it is a project or a game, I thrive when collaborating with others to meet a goal. • Organization: Maintaining strict attention to detail is how I ensure efficiency and accuracy in everything I do.

Outside of School

I believe a balanced life is essential to success. When I am not in class, I dedicate my time to things that keep me grounded and energized: • Faith: My commitment to building my relationship with God and regularly attending church is the backbone of my perspective and values. • Recreation: I love getting outside and playing sports recreationally. It is the perfect way to meet up with friends and stay active while having fun. • Relaxation: You can find me unwinding and enjoying movies and TV shows.

My Long-Term Vision

My hard work is aimed at achieving a life I can be proud of. Long-term, I aspire to travel the world, enjoy a good living with a family, invest in a nice home, and find time to do meaningful philanthropy. Ultimately, I want a career that allows me to find genuine, lasting happiness.
